第一志望の会社から正式にオファーレターを受領してサインしました。給与も前職の数字に少し色を付けてもらいました。結果的に４社に応募して約３週間で希望の会社から一番早いオファーが出るという理想的な展開となりましたが、自分の実力というよりはタイミングと運が良かったと思います。

来月からまた忙しくなるかと思いますが、今回の失業期間でかなりリフレッシュできたので、しばらくは荷馬車のように必死に働くつもりです。

それにしても今回は初めて次の転職先を決めずに仕事を辞めるという経験をしましたが、実際はかなりプレッシャーを感じていましたし、それ故に仕事が決まった瞬間はとてもホッとしました。

また、色々なインタビューで元同僚達の名前が結構出たりして、改めて自分がいる業界の狭さを再認識すると共に、今後も悪い評判が立たないようにプロ意識と誠実さを持って仕事をしていこうと思いました。

転職ブログは一旦終了という事で、今後は何か新しい題材について書いていこうと思います。

I formally received offer letter from my first choice company and signed it last weekend. The offered salary was also slightly better than previous one. As a result, I applied to four companies and received the earliest offer from my first choice company in about three weeks, which was an ideal scenario, but I think it was more of a timing and luck than my own ability.

I will be busy again starting next month, but I intend to work as hard as a workhorse since I could get refreshed in this unemployment period.

This was the first time for me to quit my job without next place, but I was actually feeling a lot of pressure, which is why I was so relieved the moment I got the job this time.

In addition, the names of my former colleagues came up quite a bit in various interviews, which made me realize once again how small the industry I am in is, and also made me realize that I will continue to work with professionalism and honesty to avoid getting a bad reputation in the future.

This is the end of my career change blog for now, and I will try to write about some new subjects going forward.

今週中にオファーを出してくれるかと思っていましたが、追加で２回のインタビューが必要とのことでまだまだ安心できません。逆に言うとそれほど重要なポジションであるということが理解できました。そんな重要なポジションだったら、前職プラスアルファのサラリー提示を期待したいですが、まずはとにかくオファーが欲しいです。

そういうわけで、来週は２社目の４次面接と３社目の１次面接があります。

I was expecting they would make an offer this week, but I haven’t achieved with the fact that two additional interviews are required. On the contrary, I understand that the position is quite important to their business. If it were such an important position, I would expect to be offered more salary than my previous position, but I would like to get an offer anyway first.

So, next week I have a fourth interview with a second company and a first interview with a third company.

今日は２社目の２次面接がありました。共通の知人がいることもあり和やかな雰囲気で面接が終了したと思います。もし次のステップに進める場合は、次回が最終面接とのことです。

面接終了後にエージェントから電話があり、志望度合いや年収などについて質問がありました。私としては前職と同程度の年収を期待できるのであれば、ビジネスに勢いがある会社なので是非との入社したいと答えました。

Today I had a second interview of a second company. I think the interview was in a good atmosphere due to our mutual acquaintance. If I can go to the next step, the next interview will be the final interview.

After the interview, the agent called and asked me questions about my level of interest and expecting salary to this job. I replied that if I could expect the same level of salary as my previous job, I would definitely like to join this company, as this company has strong business momentum in current Japanese real estate market.

今日あたり先週インタビューを受けた企業から回答が来そうだなとソワソワして待っていました。

昼前に２社目の会社の二次面接に進める旨の連絡が来てホッとしました。面接は明日です。やはり米国企業はスピード感がありますね。

話は変わりますが、久しぶりにLinkedinを開いたら前職の同僚や取引先の方の閲覧履歴がかなりありました。他人の転職先って気になるものなんですね。

I was nervously waiting reply from the companies I had an interview last week today. I was relieved when I received a call before noon informing me that I could proceed to next interview of the second company. The interview is tomorrow. U.S. companies are actually speedy.

On a different note, I opened Linkedin for the first time in a while and found quite a bit of browsing history from my former colleagues and business partners. I guess people are curious about other people's job changes.

土曜日、日曜日と何も進展がありませんでしたが、今日はエージェントから３社目の書類選考も通ったので、面接候補日をメールしますという連絡がありました。１社目と２社目の結果についてはまだ連絡はありません。３月ももう半ばになりますが、失業しながらの就職活動は本当に時間が経つのが速いです。

No progress on Saturday and Sunday, but today I received a call from the agent saying that I could pass the cv screening and that they would email me options for interview date.

I have no reply from the first and second companies yet. It's already the middle of March, and time really flies when we are searching a job while unemployed.

今日は応募している２社目の一次面接がありました。面接では前職を辞めた理由などの確認と、これまで私が担当したプロジェクトにおける業務範囲などについて質問がありました。私からはこれからの投資金額や規模感について質問をしました。米系の企業ですが、コロナ後の日本を重要な投資地域と考えていることがわかり、かなり志望度が高まりました。日本の組織はまだ小さいので面接はあってももう一回だと思いますが、まずは結果を待ちたいと思います。

Today I had a first interview with the second company I am applying for. I was asked why I left my previous job, and some questions about my role on the projects I have worked on. On the other hand, I asked questions about the investment amount and project scale. Although it is a U.S.-based company, I understood that they considered  post-Corona Japan as an important investment region, which increased my motivation to this position. The organization in Japan is still small, so I think I will have only one more interview, if any, but I would like to wait for the results first.

今日は失業保険の手続きをしにハローワークへ行ってきました。私はこれまで３回転職した経験がありますが、次を決めずに退職して失業期間があるのは初めてなので、ハローワークへ登録するのも初体験となります。

ハローワークで次の職場を探そうとは思っていませんが、求職活動が長期戦になった場合は背に腹は変えられないので、失業手当を受け取れるように登録しました。

ハローワークの建物に入ると受付があり、登録窓口で必要書類の提出と説明を受けるように案内されました。登録窓口では初老の職員の方に担当いただき丁寧に説明を受けました。

私の離職票に記載のあった前職の収入を見て、ハローワークの求人では私の希望しているようなものを探すのは難しいし、失業手当も期待しているほど出ませんという説明をまず受けました。私の場合は30歳〜45歳未満のカテゴリーとなり、その上限額を受給しますが金額は約7500円/日とのことです。ただ、早期に再就職が決まり受給期間に残りがあった場合は最大で約50万円の再就職手当が支給されます。

できれば早期に再就職を決めて、失業手当を受給せずに満額の再就職手当が欲しいと思いました。

明日は２社目の一次面接です。

Today I went to “Hello Work“ ,which is a Japanese public organization to apply for unemployment insurance. I have changed jobs three times before, but this is the first time I have resigned without next place and had an unemployment period, so this will be also my first time to register at Hello Work.

I am not expecting to look for my next job at Hello Work, but I registered so that I can receive unemployment benefits when my job search becomes a prolonged game.

Upon entering the building, I found a reception desk and was directed to the registration counter to submit the necessary documents and receive an explanation. At the registration counter, I was assigned to an elderly employee who explained the process to me in detail.

Looking at my previous income listed on my resign form, I was first told that it would be difficult to find the kind of job I was searching at Hello Work, and that unemployment benefits would not be as good as I expected. In my case, I would be in the 30-45 years old category and would receive the maximum amount, but the amount would be about 7,500 JPY/day. However, if I am able to find new job early and have some time left on my benefit period, I will receive a maximum of approx. 500,000 JPY as a re-employment allowance.

If possible, I could find new job early and wanted the full amount of the re-employment allowance without receiving unemployment benefits.

Tomorrow I will have the first interview for the second company.

今日は面接も入っていないので、タイムズカーシェアで車を借りて家族で立川のステージガーデンに行ってきました。2020年にオープンした商業施設とオフィスの複合施設で、施設中央の2階屋上部分に広々としたガーデンがあり、インスタ映えスポットとして女性に人気のようです。平日という事もあり、それほど混んでいなかったですが、スマホでポーズを決めている若者が何組かいました。

ステージガーデンは立飛ホールディングスという不動産デベロッパーが開発した施設です。立飛ホールディングスは不動産業界では知る人ぞ知る会社で、立川駅周辺に98万m2(東京ドーム21個分)の土地を所有しており、これは立川市の面積の1/25にあたります。要するに立川市の大家さんのような会社です。元々は不動産業とは全く関係なく、前身は戦時中に帝国陸軍の戦闘機を製造していた立川飛行機という会社でしたが、敗戦後は飛行機の製造を禁止されて工場敷地も接収されてしまいました。その後、1970年代に土地を全面返還されてからは不動産賃貸業を主に事業の柱に転換して現在に至ります。

立川は立飛ホールディングスの都市開発により、首都圏郊外の他の街とは違った面白い街になりつつあるなと感じました。このように大手デベロッパーではないですが特徴的な都市開発をしている民間企業がいくつかあります。そのうちユーカリが丘を開発した山万についてもこのブログで紹介したいと思います。

I didn't have an interview today, so I rented a car via Times CarShare and took my family to Stage Garden in Tachikawa, a retail and office complex that opened in 2020. This place has a spacious center garden on the second floor rooftop which seems to be popular among women as an Instagram spot. Since it was a weekday, it was not so crowded, but there were several groups of young people posing with their smartphones.

Stage Garden is a facility developed by a local real estate developer called Tachihi Holdings. Tachihi Holdings is a well-known company in the real estate industry, and owns 980,000 sqm (21 times the area of the Tokyo Dome) of land around Tachikawa Station, which is 1/25 of the area of Tachikawa City. In short, the company is like the landlord of Tachikawa City. Originally, it had nothing to do with the real estate business and was originally a company called Tachikawa Aircraft, which manufactured fighter planes for the Imperial Army during the ww2 but after the defeat in the war, it was banned from manufacturing planes and its factory site was confiscated. Later, after the land was returned in full in the 1970s, the company switched its business to real estate leasing business , which is their main business today.

I felt that Tachikawa is becoming an interesting city, different from other suburbs in the Tokyo metropolitan area, through the urban development of Tachihi Holdings. There are several private companies like this that are not major developers but are doing attractive urban development. I would like to introduce Yamaman, the developer of Eucalyptus Hill, in this blog.

実家の売却 Sale of parent’s house_1

ここ数年、両親の実家の売却活動をしています。実家スペースの横に８戸の1DKの賃貸住戸がくっついた築５０年超の木造アパートです。賃貸部分は３部屋以外は空室で、父が昨年他界したため現在は７８歳の母が１人で管理しながら住んでいます。何度か購入希望者が現れましたが、こちらの売却条件と折り合わずに契約に至っていません。

購入希望者は全員RCのワンルーム賃貸を建てようとしている個人の不動産投資家ですが、下記の点が嫌で一歩を踏み出せないようです。

• 賃借人が３人残っていて立退きが面倒
• 前面道路の片側の隣地境界標が無く、隣地建物がこちらの敷地に越境している。

賃借人の立退きに関しては金銭的な方法で解決できると思いますが、長く入居してくれた賃借人に我々から立退き交渉するのは気が進まないため、売却金額を下げてでも購入者にお任せしたいと思っています。

隣地との敷地境界問題については、昨年末に土地家屋調査士を挟んで覚書き締結の交渉をしましたが合意してもらえませんでした。これ以上は土地所有者同士で話し合っても進展が無さそうなので、筆界特定制度を利用して法務局に境界決定をしてもらおうと思います。筆界特定制度は１年近く時間がかかりますが、現状はこれが売却への近道である気がしています。

I have been working on selling my parents' home for the past few years. It’s a 50+ year old wooden apartment with no.8 of studio units attached to the side of my family home space. Excepting three units, remaining are vacant, and my father passed away last year, so my 78-year-old mother is currently living alone in the apartment and managing it by herself. A potential buyer has appeared several times, but we have not been able to reach a purchase and sell agreement due to our conditions that buyers can’t accept.

The buyers are all retail real estate investors who are looking to build new apartments, but they are not willing to take the step because they dislike the following points.

• Three tenants are remain and quitting negotiations are needed.
• There is no land boundary marker on one side of the front road, and the adjacent building crosses the boundary into our property.

We believe that we can solve the tenant negotiations in a financial compensation, but we are not willing to negotiate with tenants whom we have a long term relationship with, so we would like to leave it to the buyers even if we have to discount.

Regarding the issue of the site boundary with the neighboring land, we negotiated to conclude a memorandum of understanding with a land surveyor at the end of last year, but they did not agree to it. Since there seems to be no progress even if the we continue to discuss it any more, I decided that I would ask Legal Affairs Bureau to decide the boundary. I feel that this is a shortcut to sale at present though it takes nearly one year.

今日は１社目の面接がありました。面接官はHR担当と私が応募している部署の部長さんで両名とも日本人でした。この部長さんとは過去に仕事したことがあり、単刀直入に前職を辞めた理由や今回の応募動機などを質問されました。ちょっとネガティブな説明になってしまったかもしれません。

それ以外には希望年収と入社可能時期などについて確認されましたが、前職同等の年収を希望して、入社は４月からでも大丈夫と回答しました。

次に進める場合は、後２回ほど面接があるようです。

あと、昨日応募した米系のAM会社の面接が今週末に決まりました。こちらは組織が小さそうなので、面接は２回程度だと思います。

Today I had a first interview with the first company. The interviewers were the HR manager and the head of the department I am applying for, both Japanese. I had worked with this department head in the past project, and he asked me straightforward questions about why I quit my previous job and why I applied for this position. I may have given a bit of a negative explanation.

Regarding expecting salary and availability, I answered that I was expecting an annual salary equivalent to that of my previous job and that I would be fine with starting work in April.

Also, I have another interview this weekend with a American AM company that I applied for yesterday. This one seems to be a smaller organization, so I think there will be only two interviews.

今日はiX転職経由で連絡をもらった大手転職エージェント会社の担当者に面談をしてもらい、いくつか私にマッチしそうな求人情報を教えてもらいました。さすがは大手のエージェントで不動産金融業界の専任担当ということもあり、どれも私のキャリアに合った求人情報でした。そのうちの２社が気になったので応募をお願いしました。どちらも外資系AM会社です。これで現在のところ４社に応募する事になりますが、明日は豪州企業のインタビューが早速あります。エージェント経由でインタビューの詳細情報を聞いたところ、面接官が過去のプロジェクトでお会いしたことがある方でした。転職の理由を必ず尋ねられると思うので、出来るだけポジティブな回答に努めようと思っています。

Today I had an interview with a major recruitment agency who contacted me via iX Jobchange and they gave me information of several job postings that seemed to match with me. As I expected to a major agency who had dedicated staff for the real estate finance industry, all of the job postings were a good fit for my career. I was interested in two of them and asked to apply. Both are foreign AM companies. I will now apply to totally four companies so far, and I have an first interview with an Australian company tomorrow. I got more information about the interview through my agent and the interviewer was someone I had met in a past project. I am sure they will ask me why I wanted to change jobs, so I am going to try to answer as positively as possible.

日曜日なので転職活動はしませんでしたが、自分の今後の働き方について漠然と考えていました。私は新卒で入社したJTCに11年勤務したあと外資→JTC→外資と転職を重ねてトータル4社経験しています。３社目の日系企業では年収がちょい下がりでしたが、それ以外では一応年収アップの転職ができたため、前職では４０歳で１５００万円貰えていました。

ただ、業界的にこれ以上の年収を狙うのは自分の能力的にも難しそうという思いと、今後は給料よりも家族との時間や趣味を重視するような働き方がしたいという希望があります。そんな都合の良いポジションの募集があれば良いのですが、これまでの経験から年齢的にもJTCへの転職は厳しいし、万が一採用されても働き難いだろうなと思っています。個人的には小回りのきく日本支社の組織が小さな外資を狙っています。

I did not do job search as it’s Sunday but I was thinking about my next working style. I worked at JTC for 11 years after graduated, and then moved to foreign company -> JTC ->foreign company. Eventually I could get annual 15 mil JPY at previous job.

However, I feel that it would be difficult for me to aim for a higher salary in the industry, and I would like to prioritize family time and hobbies than salary in the future. I wish there was an opening for such a fancy position, but from my past experience, I think it would be difficult for me to move to JTC and find it in JTC even if I were fortunately hired. I am aiming for a foreign company with a small organization in a Japanese branch.

土曜日なので転職活動はせず、メールなども意図的に見ないようにしていました。午前中は子供達と近所の公園へ行き、午後は妻と交代で昼寝をしました。私の方が長く寝ていたと文句を言われましたが…

今日は失業中の日本の健康保健制度について書きます。日本は国民皆保険制度と言って、全員が何かしらの健康保険に入る義務があり、自営業者を除いて通常は勤務先が加入している健康保険制度に入ります。次の転職先を見つけてから退職する人は関係ありませんが、私のように失業期間を挟む場合は自分で健康保険に入る必要があります。その際は下記の３つの選択肢があります。

1. 自営業者のように国民健康保険に入る
2. 退職した会社の保険を任意継続制度で延長する。
3. 配偶者の扶養に入って配偶者の勤務先の健康保険制度に入る

私の妻は専業主婦なので、今回は上記の1か2の選択肢しかなかったのですが、私は2の任意継続制度を選択しました。理由は単に保険金額が安かったからです。国民健康保険の場合は約9万円。一方で任意継続制度の場合は42000円とほぼ半額でした。また、珍しいのですが退職前の保険料約46000円より下がるという現象が起きました。任意継続をする場合は退職前に勤務先が負担してくれていた分も自分で支払う必要があるため、通常は保険料が上がるのですが、今回は下がりました。

これは退職前は標準月学報酬額の約１００万円を元に計算されていましたが、退職後の任意継続の場合は組合員平均の月学報酬額３２万円を元に保険料が算出されるためのようです。９万円近く払う必要があると思っていたので、なんか得した気分です。

I did not do for job search and intentionally did not look at my e-mail as it’s Saturday. I went to a park with my kids this morning and in the afternoon my wife and I took turns taking naps. She complained that I slept longer than she did...

Today I will write about the Japanese health insurance system during unemployment. Japan has a universal health insurance system, which means that everyone is obligated to have some kind of health insurance, and except for the self-employed, we are usually covered by the health insurance system of their employer. It does not matter if you resigned after finding your next job, but if you are going through a period of unemployment like me, you need to join the health insurance system by yourself. In that case, you have the following three options

1. Get National Health Insurance like a self-employed person
2. Extend the insurance of the company which you resigned through the voluntary continuation system.
3. Enroll in the health insurance system of your spouse's employer as a dependent of your spouse.

Since my wife is not working, the only options available were no.1 or no.2 above, and I selected no.2, the voluntary continuation system. The reason was simply that the insurance premium was cheaper. National Health Insurance costs about 90,000 JPY/month. On the other hand, in the case of the voluntary continuation system, the cost was 42,000 JPY/month, almost half the cost of the national health insurance. In addition, although it is rare, it was lower than the insurance premium of about 46,000 JPY before I resigned. In the case of voluntary continuation, the premiums usually go up because you have to pay the portion that was paid by your employer before you resigned, but this time they went down.

Before resigned, the premiums were calculated based on the monthly salary of approx.1mil JPY but in the case of voluntary continuation, the premiums are based on the average monthly salary of 320,000 JPY for union members. I felt like I was luckily getting something out of it since I thought I would have to pay almost 90,000 JPY/month.

今日は午前中に転職サイトからのメール確認を１時間ほど行いました。DODAのサイトがいちばん件数が多かったですが、ほぼ的外れな案件でした。ただ、同じ系列のiX転職のサイトを通じてJACリクルートメントのエージェントから面談のお誘いメールが来ていました。私のキャリアとマッチする不動産金融業界の専門という事で、是非お願いしたいと返信しておきました。

あとは先週応募した豪州企業の書類審査が通り、来週インタビューを受ける事になりました。レポートラインがシンガポールみたいなので英語面接になるかもしれません。

I spent an hour for checking e-mails from job search sites and agents. DODA had the most e-mails, but they were mostly off the mark. However, I received an invitation for an interview from a JAC Recruitment agent through the iX Jobchange site, which is the same family with DODA. I replied that I would be very interested in meeting with them as they specialized in the real estate finance industry, which matched with my career.

The other thing is that I passed document screening for the Australian company I applied for last week went through and I will have an interview next week. I heard that the reporting line was to Singapore, so the interview may be in English.

今朝も特にエージェントから返信はありませんでした。まだ大丈夫ですが、流石にこの状況で３月が終わると焦って来るかもしれません。

家でじっとしていてもしょうがないので、妻と子供達を連れて品川プリンスホテルの水族館へ行ってきました。ちょうど入館したら14時からのイルカショーが始まるところでした。この水族館のイルカショーは、噴水や照明とイルカの演技がコラボレーションしていて大人でも十分楽しめます。逆に２歳の長女は初めて見たイルカの迫力に恐がって、ずっとイルカと目を合わせないように顔を背けていましたし、０歳の長男はずっと寝ていました。あと珍しいと思ったのは、１つのプールにバンドウイルカ、カマイルカ、オキゴンドウの３種類のイルカ達がいて、一緒に１つのショーを作り上げていた事です。違う種類のイルカ同士でもコミュニケーション手段は共通なんだろうかとふと疑問に思いました。もしそうであれば、人間社会よりもイルカ社会の方がグローバル化が進んでいるなあと感心した１日でした。

I haven’t received any reply from the agent. I'm still ok, but I might come to be impatient if I would enter into March without any progress.

I took my wife and children to the aquarium at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel as It’s better to go out than sit down at home. When we entered the aquarium, the dolphin show was just to start at 14:00. The dolphin show at this aquarium is a collaboration of fountains, lights, and dolphin performances, and it’s attractive enough even for adults. On the other hand, my 2 years old daughter was afraid of the powerful dolphins she saw for the first time and kept turning her head away from the dolphins to avoid eye contact, and my 9 months baby slept the whole time. I was also interested in this show as there were three kinds of dolphins in one pool: bottlenose dolphins, Pacific white-sided dolphins, and yellow-tailed dolphins, and they played a show together. I wondered if dolphins of different species share the same communication way. If so, I was impressed by the fact that dolphin society is more globalized than human society.

今朝はDODAの転職カウンセリングを受けました。４０分ほどで終了しましたが、私に案件を紹介するために先方が必要な情報を要領良く質問してくれました。年収が下がっても良いかという質問には、長時間労働で忙しくて年収が下がるのであれば避けたいと答えておきました。カウンセリング後にいくつか募集可能なポジションの情報を送ってくれましたが、すぐに応募したいというような案件はなかったです。あと、DODAと同じ会社が提供しているiX転職というサイトにも追加で登録を行いました。こちらは年収１０００万円以上ポジションを主に紹介するサービスとのことです。本日も特に進展はありませんでしたが、明日は天気が良いので家族で外出でもしようかと考えています。

I had a job counseling by DODA this morning, which was about 40 minutes, and the counselor asked some questions to get the point of my expectations they needed in order to give me right job information. When asked if I would be able to accept a lower salary, I replied that I wanted to avoid salary down in spite of busier and longer hour job. They sent me information on some available positions after the counseling, but there were none that I wanted to apply for right now. I also additionally registered with a site called iX Jobchange, which is provided by the same company as DODA. I was told that this service mainly introduces positions with annual salary of 10 million JPY or more. There was no particular progress was today, but I am thinking of going out with my family tomorrow as it’s nice weather.

今日から３月になりました。東京の気温も春らしくなってきて、朝食前にジョギングして汗をかくと清々しい気持ちになります。ここ数年で体重が増えてしまい体力の衰えを感じているので、この求職期間中に60kg前半まで減量して２０代の頃の健康的な体型に戻りたいと思っています。

昨日メールで豪州企業と米国企業へ応募しましたが、すぐに返事が来るわけもなく、特にやることももありません。今回のような失業しながらの求職活動は初めてですが、結構手持ち無沙汰の時間が多いことがわかりました。優秀なビジネスマンは英語学習や資格取得の勉強をするのかもしれませんが、ダメ人間の私はそんなモチベーションがある訳もなく、それ故に現在のような境遇に至ってします。英語は３０代半ばで受験したToeiが750点程度でしたが、それ以降は試験を受けていませんし、英語が上達した気も全くしません。中途半端な英語でずっとなんちゃって外資系ビジネスマンを続けて来ました。

妻や子供たちとリビングでTVやYouTube を観ていても良いのですが、ずっとそれだと流石に煮詰まってきてしまいます。近所のカフェで転職サイトの検索をしてくると言って外出しました。結局、どうせカフェなら時間を潰せるカフェにしようと思い、漫画喫茶に入って週刊誌や牛嶋君などを読んでいました。SPAを読んでいる際に珍しく電話に着信があったので出てみると、今朝登録したDODAからでした。専任でエージェントが付いて転職のカウンセリングをしてくれるとの事でした。実際、懇意にしているエージェントは既にいるので、あまり必要性は感じなかったのですが、何か予定を入れないと毎日やる事もなくダラダラしてしまいそうだったので、早速明日お願いする事にしました。正直なところ、明日も何も予定がなかったら、また漫画喫茶に来る事になっていたかもしれません。失業しながらの転職活動は時間が自由な反面、自己管理が難しいです。

It’s March from today. The temperature in Tokyo is changing warm and I feel spring is coming. I can be refreshed when I jog and sweat before breakfast. I've gained a lot of weight over the past few years and I feel my physical strength waning, so I try to lose my weight to around 60kg during this job search period and get back to the healthy shape I had in my 20s.

I applied to an Australian company and a U.S. company via email yesterday, and of course I neither have got any response so far nor have anything special to do today. This is the first time I've been looking for a job while unemployed, and I've found that I have too much time on my hands. A good businessman might study English or acquire qualifications, but I'm not motivated to do so, and that's why I'm in this situation now. I took the TOEIC test in my mid-30s with a score of about 750, but I haven't tried after that and I don't feel like my English has been improved at all. I have been working in foreign companies with a half-baked English.

Watching TV or YouTube in the living room with my wife and kids is not bad but I feel like I'm getting bogged down if I do that all the time. I went out to a café to do a search on job sites. In the end, I decided to go to a manga café as I could kill some time and enjoyed a weekly magazine and comics such as Ushijima-kun, etc. While I was reading SPA, I received an unusual call on my phone, and when I answered it, it was from DODA, the job search site I registered with this morning. They said they had a agent to counsel me. Actually, I didn't feel the need for this since I already had an agent I was familiar with, but I felt like I would be lazy and have nothing to do every day if I didn't make some plans, so I decided to ask for help tomorrow. To be honest, if I hadn't had any plans for tomorrow, I might have ended up coming back to this manga cafe. While job search while unemployed gives you free time, it is difficult to manage yourself.
